Asimismo, el gobernante escribió en su cuenta de Twitter: “Agradecido con la visita del Secretario de Estado de Cooperación Internacional para Iberoamérica y el Caribe, Fernando García Casas, que representa el fortalecimiento de lazos con el Gobierno de España para seguir trabajando en temas de educación, inversión y el desarrollo de Palmerola”.
El mandatario hondureño añadió en la conferencia de prensa que Honduras se ha mostrado al mundo como un país que puede producir y crecer a gran escala, y que tiene un ambiente propicio para las inversiones.
El proyecto de Palmerola tiene un coste de 163 millones de dólares, con un aporte del Gobierno hondureño de 23 millones, 53 millones del Fondo de Reconversión de la Deuda de Honduras con España y 87 millones de dólares que pone el consorcio EMCO.
